Next steps for Spreadfirefox.com
Thanks to your help over the past few months, we have put together a plan for the next set of improvements to spreadfirefox.com.
Project Summary
SpreadFirefox.com (Sfx) is the home of Firefox community marketing. Its main goal is to be the platform to create new marketing projects and get marketing materials and information for spreading Firefox. Sfx members self organize into groups related to specific projects initiated by the community or the Mozilla marketing team.
Over the past couple of months, we have evaluated the current state of Sfx with the help of Sfx members, and have mapped out future work to improve the site.
The top priority, which will be addressed in Q4 of 2008, is the redesign of the homepage and the site navigation. User feedback emphasized that it is hard to get started on Sfx, so a redesign will focus on this specific concern. To supplement this work, we'll be developing more help content for the site.
In addition, a new feature will be developed in Q4 to aggregate marketing content that is not currently hosted on Sfx. This includes blogs from the marketing team and Sfx members.
We have also scoped out future projects for Sfx, to be worked on in 2009. They include an update of the groups, through the upgrade to Drupal 6 and a redesign of the pages associated with groups.
The project updates will be posted on the Sfx group at http://www.spreadfirefox.com/Sfx

It’s a complete marketing plan and surely it will bring a positive outcome when all the steps are implemented. Especially I like the idea about redesigning the webpage and creating “new on sfx page”.
There is a lot of information on the current page, which makes it difficult for new users to navigate Essay
It's amazing how big this project (firefox) has got. I remember the good ole days of Netscape with a tear in my good eye! I'll always have my fox next to me!
Quite a few improvements to Sfx landed over the summer. Many thanks to Alex Buchanan and Paul Booker for their hard work! After analyzing traffic to the site, and gathering feedback from Sfx members and admins, we have also created a plan for the next set of improvements. The priority for next quarter is to redesign the homepage and top-level navigation of the site.
This is a comprehensive marketing plan for Firefox. There is a threat from Google Chrome but the product is now as good. If I can help in my capacity as an internet marketing consultant please let me know.
I agree with wsiebler. This plan is very comprehensive and useful for people and businesses across different industries. Community building in marketing is great and this is very useful
Andy,
You are spot on about the value of community building we do it all the time as a key part of our online marketing consulting service.

The priority for next quarter is to redesign the homepage and top-level navigation of the site. There is a lot of information on the current page, which makes it difficult for new users to navigate. We envision three parts to the redesign: * Create a simplified homepage with an explanation of what Sfx is about, a community spotlight, and a call to action. * Create a new page for members to track Sfx activity. This is where members will go to see what is happening on the site: events, new groups, new posts, etc. * Update the navigation to improve usability. This includes making the header smaller so more page content is visible without scrolling, and making the menus easier to find. We’ll also add the activity page and the campus reps program to the top level menus.
Any idea, when it will going to implement. i also want to take part in it. This really looks me a good plans to remove the nofollow attribute from links to top affiliates. I also need this for affiliate program and i believe this will be a good one. What you people recommend.?
Next steps for Spreadfirefox building a powerful brand position .
Congrats folks, I am glad you did it.
Are there any plans to remove the nofollow attribute from links to top affiliates' websites, so that there is actual incentive for participating in the SpreadFirefox affiliate program?
